At TapBlaze, we respect your privacy and want to be clear about how we handle your information during the hiring process.
What we collect
When you apply for a job, we collect personal information that you share with us (like your resume or application details). We may also receive information from your interactions with us, from references, or from service providers who help us with hiring.
How we use it

How long we keep it

Additional Personal Information Collected and Disclosed for Select Roles and Positions
For specific roles and positions at TapBlaze, the identifiers described above (e.g., name, title/honorific, addresses, telephone numbers, and personal email addresses) may also be collected and received directly by our vendors and service providers who assist us with the purposes of conducting credit checks, criminal background checks, employment history verification, and digital forensics. These categories of vendors and service providers include: background check providers and forensic service providers.
Background check providers may also collect the following additional categories of personal information (on an as-needed basis to achieve the purpose): date of birth, the results of credit and criminal background checks, and information that reveals social security, driver’s license, and/or other government-issued identification number. Our vendors and service providers collect this personal information directly from you only after you receive a conditional offer of employment from TapBlaze and prior to starting employment.
TapBlaze uses the results provided by these background check providers and digital forensics providers for the following purposes: (i) to determine your suitability and qualification for certain roles and positions; (ii) to protect the safety and security of our workforce, property, and assets; and (iii) to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Unless you direct otherwise in writing by contacting us at privacy@tapblaze.com, we retain this personal information for a minimum of four years as required by law. If you are hired and employed by TapBlaze, the personal information you provide during this process will then be subject to and retained in accordance with our employee privacy notice.
Categories of Personal Information Sold or Shared to Third Parties
We have not sold or shared any personal information with any third parties in the preceding 12 months as those terms are defined under California law.
Enforcement
All TapBlaze employees having care over or access to personal information must comply with the policies, procedures, and practices described in this Applicant Privacy Notice. Any TapBlaze employee who breaches any term or condition of this Applicant Privacy Notice, whether intentional or unintentional, will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Personal Information Retention
We generally retain personal information for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes described in this Applicant Privacy Notice and for four (4) years after you submit your application (if not hired), unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
The primary factors we consider in determining retention periods can include minimum requirements under applicable law, relevant industry standards, the types of data in question (such as its level of sensitivity), relevance to potential litigation or similar proceedings (such as defending ourselves against legal claims), and whether the personal information is required to prevent fraud or similar abuse of the job application process.

In some cases, we may ask you or enable you to access or otherwise interact with third-party websites, products, or services in connection with the job application process. Additionally, other websites may also reference, advertise, or link to TapBlaze job postings. Please note that those links and the content of such other websites, products, or services are offered by third parties not controlled by us, and we are not responsible for their actions, their terms, their privacy practices and use of information, or their products or services.
If you submit your information to a third party, that third party’s treatment of your information is governed by their privacy policy, which may differ from this Applicant Privacy Notice. We encourage you to review the applicable privacy policy of any third party you interact with in connection with the job application process.
Security
We follow generally accepted industry standards and maintain reasonable safeguards designed to secure the information in our possession, and take steps to ensure only those at TapBlaze with a legitimate business need to access your personal information are permitted to do so. We also take reasonable steps to assure that third parties to whom we transfer information will provide protections appropriate to that type of information.
We also have in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal information breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so. Minors
We do not collect data about individuals that are under 18 years old as part of the job application and hiring process. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties, and thus, we do not sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

Right to Know and to Access
Subject to certain exceptions and legal obligations, you have the right to request that we disclose information about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months, including whether we sell or share such information. You also have the right to request access to the personal information collected about you and information regarding: the categories of personal information; the categories of sources; the business or commercial purposes for which we collect, sell, or share it; the third parties to whom we disclose it; and the specific pieces of personal information collected about you.

Right to Portability
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you, in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format that allows you to transmit the data to another entity without hindrance. This right is subject to exceptions and legal obligations. Once we confirm your identity, we will provide your data as required by law, either through your user account or by email.
Right to Delete
You have the right to request that we delete your personal information. Once we confirm your identity, we will review your request and determine if an exception applies. If no exception applies, we will delete or de-identify your personal information and direct our service providers to do the same. This right is subject to certain exceptions and legal obligations.
Right to Correct Inaccurate Information
You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information, subject to legal requirements and exceptions. Once we confirm your identity, we will review your request and may ask for supporting documentation to show the data is inaccurate.
Right to Opt Out of the Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information to third parties. TapBlaze does not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information
You have the right to direct us to limit our use of Sensitive Personal Information to what is necessary to perform the services or provide the goods reasonably expected by an average consumer. Vendors and service providers assisting with the uses of personal information described in this Applicant Privacy Notice may also collect sensitive personal information, such as a social security number or government-issued ID, when provided in connection with the application process. We only use such information as necessary to perform the services for which it was collected.
Non-Discrimination or Retaliation
We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising any of your data privacy rights.
How to Submit a Request
You or an authorized agent may submit a request to exercise your rights by contacting us at privacy@tapblaze.com with “California Data Privacy Rights” in the subject line and a description of the rights you wish to exercise in the body of the email.
Verification Procedures
We are required by law to verify your identity before responding to your request (except for opt-out requests). This may include providing identifiers we can match against information we already hold and confirming your request via the email address submitted. We will not collect additional information solely for the purpose of verification, nor require you to create an account to exercise your rights.
Requests may be granted in whole, in part, or denied, depending on whether we can verify your identity, the scope of the request, and applicable law. Where required, we will inform you if your request is denied and the reasons why.
Authorized Agent
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require documentation showing their authority and may also ask you to verify your own identity or confirm that you granted authorization.
