POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a game design intern that deeply cares about the work they do to help us further expand "Good Pizza, Great Pizza" game play and a new game we been working on.

The ideal candidate loves to build outstanding experiences for players and strives to improve their skills to become a great game designer. Passion for making and playing games with great player experience is a must!

OBJECTIVES

  • Collaborate with game designers and product managers to come up with system designs and write the game design documents (GDD)
  • Create new daily quests, achievements, upgrades, and skills as it relates to gameplay
  • Create new game content such as character dialogs and stories
  • Create and empower player choice adhering to the creative vision of the game
  • Help with GDDs standardization

COMPETENCIES

  • Game knowledge and an understanding of the design principles behind games
  • Familiar with narrative structuring tools such as Arrow, Twine, etc.
  • Passion for great gameplay; you know how to put the user experience first, and know how to tell a story that blends with gameplay instead of distracting from it
  • Experience working with a game engine is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in the Summer of 2023 and are slated to graduate in Fall of 2023 or Spring of 2024.
  • Available to work full-time hours for 10-12 weeks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Los Angeles, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work
  • Prolonged period of time sitting at a desk and computer
